Training Camp FAQ's
Q: How long is the Programme?
A: There is the option of 6 to 8 week programmes available throughout the year.
Q: What is the difference between the 6 and 8 week programme?
A: Each programme will cater for the individual and depending on what you wish to achieve from the training, we can suggest which programme will suit.
Q: What do the training programmes include?
A: Each of the programmes are based on military style physical training techniques and will include training utilising body strength exercises, endurance exercises and interval training.
Q: How long are the sessions?
A: Each session runs for approximately one hour, including warm up, warm down and stretching. Some sessions may run over time but it will only be a few minutes.
Q: What is the dress?
A: Depending on the season, shorts, T-shirt or singlet are recommended dress. Again depending on prevailing weather conditions you may wish to dress warmer.
Q: Will sessions continue if weather is bad?
A: Yes, but again this will depend on how bad the weather is. If it is the case that a session cannot be conducted because it is unsafe to do so, then we will reschedule at a convenient time for all participants.
Q: What are the training days?
A: Monday, Wednesday and Friday. With morning or afternoon programmes available. Morning sessions start at 0545hrs sharp and finish at 0645hrs. Afternoon sessions commence at 1745hrs and finish at 1845hrs.
Q: What do I need to do before I sign up?
A: All participants will be required to provide background history in relation to what physical training they have previously participated in and in some cases it is recommended that they undertake a doctor’s examination before starting. All participants will need to complete an enrolment form and undertake a basic fitness test before commencing. We will use this information to gauge whether or not you will be able to undertake the programme. If it is the case that you are not at the required level, we can offer alternatives and assist in compiling a training programme that best suits what you wish to achieve.
Q: Where are the training sessions?
A: The majority of sessions will occur at Kingsway sporting complex. Where will depend on the activity to be conducted for the day.
Q: Will I need anything?
A: All that you require when you attend each session is a bottle of water, towel and the appropriate gym clothing, including your Raw Edge Fitness T-shirt. Failure to bring along the t-shirt will result in remedial training so that you don’t forget again!! We will provide anything else that you require.
Q: What do I get for my money?
A: You will receive the following;
· T-shirt that is to be worn for the training sessions;
· Three one hour sessions a week for the duration of the programme you purchase;
· All the necessary equipment required to undertake the training sessions is supplied;
· Expert guidance and advice from our highly qualified trainers; and
· Basic fitness test at the start and finish of the programme to gauge your level of fitness and ascertain what improvements you have made at the completion of the programme.
Q: Are any of the sessions the same?
A: Each programme contains various training sessions that are only repeated once throughout the entire programme. The reason for repeating one of the programmes is to gauge how you are going and ascertain the improvements you have made. Some of the individual exercises will be repeated, but again, this is for your benefit to see how much progress you are making.
Q: What happens if I am injured during training?
A: At the time of injurying yourself we will manage the injury and suggest what the best appropriate course of action is. In the case of a significant injury that stops you from continuing with the programme, we will back load you to the next course, if that is what suits. Refunds will be considered depending on what point of the programme you are at.
Q: What if I have a pre existing injury?
A: Please advise us of any pre existing injuries that may impede your progress during the programme. We can review the pre existing injury prior to commencing and advise you whether or not you will be able to participate in one of our programmes. The programmes are intense and designed to test you physically and mentally. Pre existing injuries will only impede your progress and performance and you won’t benefit as much as you should from our training.
Q: How experienced are the Raw Edge trainers?
A: Each trainer has extensive background knowledge and experience in various training techniques. All trainers have conducted or participated in military style training techniques as well as various other training methods.
Q: How many trainers will be present?
A: Depending on participant numbers, a minimum of two trainers will be present for all sessions. We work on a 1:10 ratio.
Q: How many participants on the programmes?
A: Min. 10, Max. 20.
Q: What if a course isn’t filled?
A: We will advise you if there are not sufficient numbers and reschedule. It may be the case that a course will proceed even if we don’t have sufficient numbers, but again this will depend on how small numbers are.
