Hi guys, long time no post. Been pretty hectic with the OPEN and training over the last two months.

I firstly want to thank all the REX crew for their support and commitment over the last few months. The support shown to each other has been awesome and unrivaled. As a trainer, not only have I been proud of your efforts and commitment but marvelled at your progress.

For majority of you this is your first games and I think will not be your last. The dedication to completing WODS RXD shows the seriousness each and every one of you have in your training and progression. It is to say the least, inspirational..

To our loyal spectators, without your support every week and particularly on those Saturday mornings, the atmosphere would not be the same. It can easily be said that wherever a REX athlete competes a support crew will follow and be the loudest and show the most support. This has been clearly evident over the last two months. Please continue your support as the REX community is stronger than ever thanks to your support.

I am proud to say that at least six athletes will have the opportunity to compete at the REGIONALS in Sydney during the period of 27 - 29th May 2011. I look forward to traveling away with a very strong representation from REX and I am show the same support for not only our athletes, but other athletes from Perth will continue to be unrivaled.

From there Sam, Aimee and myself will be attending the World Games in the US in July. We are all excited about seeing how its done in the states, the home and origin of CrossFit and are hoping to bring back a lot of good stuff for you guys.

Lastly, congrats to Chelsea and Chris who are in the process of opening a box in Albany under the Raw Edge Fitness banner. I look forward to supporting them as they build a community in Albany and hope that you all will show the same support as the REX community grows. It is my intention to take a crew down to Albany for their opening and assist with some display WODS, so stay tuned for more details on this shortly. At this stage I think they are planning to crank it up around July 2011.

COMING UP -

Southern CrossFit are hosting another PRIMAL THROWDOWNon the 25th June. Make sure if you want to have a go, let myself or Sam know so we can make sure you register and don't miss out. The boys at SXF will cap numbers, so you will need to get in quick.

Fellow Raw Edge athletes,

today I had the opportunity to judge at WOD 5. I would just like to say how absolutely awesome it was to watch my friends give their all and I am really proud to train with all of you guys.

There were tears, shredded hands, destroyed arms and lungs on fire and NO-ONE GAVE UP.

You should all be extremely proud of yourselves as I am.

It was a fantastic morning so thank you.

Roll on next weekend.

Clarkey

Well Done to all who have registered and are in the process of completing WOD 1 for the OPEN Sectionals.

Remember each week we will try and get you guys down to another affiliate to complete the WOD and get amongst the WA CrossFit community. We will also still continue to run the WOD at our box for those that can't make it to another affiliate.

This week has seen WOD 1 submission time increased for another week due to the hiccups on the website. So, if you want to have one more crack at it let us know and we will schedule you in. You all have until next Sunday to complete the WOD.

Due to the extra week for WOD 1, we will await confirmation on where the next WOD is to be run. SF Gym where down originally, but this may change.

ALSO on the cards, we are in the process of booking flights for REGIONALS in late May 2011. So far a few of you have expressed an interest in attending, so again, let us know as we have some costs for flights etc. At this stage JETSTAR are the cheapest with $179.00 one way + $12.00 for luggage. YOU NEED to get onto this guys as flights will increase in cost significantly shortly.

BOOTCAMPERS: We are well and truly into are 4th Boot Camp for this season and the guys are putting in the hard yards. Few hiccups along the way with one of our regulars, Janelle injuring herself, but we hope to see her back in a few weeks. Results for all have been excellent and I would like to congratulate Aaron on his 2 and 1/2?? kips, which he busted out at the gym.

We are gauging interest from you guys to run a Winter Boot Camp out of the gym, so let us know if you are keen and if we have the numbers then we will run it. It will start in May after the current outdoor Boot Camps finish and run through to around September depending on the weather

Otherwise CrossFit continues all year and we can scale the workouts as required depending on the level of fitness and ability.

Hey Guys,

With a lot going on in the next few weeks we wanted to keep you all updated. As you are all aware we are now well and truly in competition season with sectionals beginning on Wednesday 16th March, this means lot of training for our competitive athletes, so be sure to wish them all luck.

For those of you who are unaware we now have a games page, which we will use to keep you all updated on everything from the sectionals to the Worlds in America. The games page will host all the information regarding sectionals dates, times, locations and of course the WOD! So make sure you check it regularly. We also have videos posted by CrossFit HQ and any links regarding the games for your convenience.

As of this week we will no longer be running 9.30am classes (sorry guys) or our workshops. But for a good reason I promise. We are aware that we have a few athletes who would like to give the sectionals workouts a go but are worried about competing at the affiliate gatherings (no need to be guys!) or are unable to attend ever Saturday for 6 weeks, for this we will be giving the option of completing the workout on the Wednesday, Thursday or Friday as well as the opportunity to compete on Saturday! So no excuses guys! Everyone is encouraged to give it a go even just for fun. So you will all need to let us know when you would like to give it a go.

Hope this has been helpful! Let the games begin!
-Aimee

People, for those keen to go over to Sydnery this year for the Regionals we are looking at getting a crew over, whether we have any of our own guys competing or not.

The experience of the games is one for you guys to check out for yourselves as all of Australia and New Zealand's best come together to compete over the weekend of May 27th to 29th to find the top athletes to travel to the states to compete in the world games.

So if your keen let us know as we are pricing up everything now and should be able to get a pretty good group discount on airfares and accommodation.

Also, if you are keen on putting your hand up for the team events let me know as we are hoping to get a crew over to compete at the regionals. Three males and three females will be selected to represent REX in Sydney.

I know a lot of you want to compete as individuals at the Sectionals, which is what you need to do anyway in order to qualify for the regionals, individual or team.

Not long now guys. Only a couple of weeks till the first WOD and all that hard training over the last year or so will be put to the test. For you just wanting to experience it, get involved as it will be for everyone of all levels of fitness.

More soon guys.......

G'day guys been a big few weeks with the In House Comp and the efforts of all with their training. Great Work!!!!

Sectionals is only a few weeks away and we are hosting a Sectionals WOD in early April. Stay tuned for more soon. Should be good with other affiliates coming to REX to compete. We are looking at a Saturday at this stage to host our WOD. The other affiliates will be hosting a WOD each week as well so the opportunity is there to go to their boxes to compe

Don't worry everyone is going to have the opportunity to complete the sectionals WODs, if they wish as we will be running each WOD at the box every week for the duration of the open.

NOW is the time to let us know if you are keen to travel to the U.S. for the 2011 GAMES in late July. We will be traveling over and if there are others keen it would be good to have a REX crew to fly the flag.

Same, Same for the Regionals guys. They will be in late May and again we are hoping to get a crew over to fly the REX flag. Further confirmation of dates for the Regionals shortly, but looks to be the last weekend in May.

Anyhow great job by all with your training and I lastly want to welcome all our new members who are now part of the REX family. Good to have you on board.
